The research programs of the Canada Research Chair in Canadian Foreign and Defence Policy are first and foremost inspired by theoretical issues found in debates within the field of International Relations. More specifically, the research programs undertaken seek to further our understanding of variables structuring security policy. Nonetheless, these research programs also reflect the current concerns of the Canadian government and population and can thus lead to applied research.
